This Live Oak tree on Cueva de Oro in the Preserve at Lost Gold Creek in Austin, TX has over 900′ of 5mm LED Christmas lights on it. It’s amazing what the advent of reliable LED lights did for Christmas light installation work.
If these were incandescent lights it would required a bunch of extension cords and maybe even some expensive electrician work to provide the required amp flow.
Plantscape Solutions has been using only LED lights since 2009 and has a three season warranty from out supplier on all tree lights. There are many strands of lights in use today that are 6-10 years old. They really stand the test of time really well.
