This patio redesign project consisted of a patio overlay on the elevated porch area and adding a new ground level patio. On the upper patio a bonding agent is used to insure the mortar bonds to the existing concrete properly. Then many string lines are run to insure the patio has a very slight angled pitch away from the house to insure there are no puddling issues.
Several yards of soil was removed to create a stable base for constructing the new lower patio. Lots of compacted road base was used to get a rock solid building base. Then lots of rebar and Portland cement were used to create a structurally reinforced base that could support the weight of the patio and seating walls. A lot of though and planning went into how every piece of stone way put in place.
The finished product was very refined and effort was put into making sure all mortar joints were uniform. All mortar was wiped clean from any surfaces during construction to insure the end product would immaculately clean and detailed.
