The time to fertilize is here. For do-it-yourself type people do not listen to Scotts commercials that push weed & feed fertilizer like Bonus S. Professionals never use granular weed’n feed fertilizers because they put way too much herbicide into the landscape and soil. The active ingredient in Bonus S is Atrazine and it has polluted most of the water supplies across the south. Take a sample of your city of Austin water and if you have it analyzed you will likely find trace amounts of Atrazine in it.
