Hiring a professional to install your Christmas and holiday lights can save time, reduce stress, and make your home shine brighter than ever. But if you’re new to professional holiday lighting, or just exploring your options, you probably have a few questions.
At Plantscape Solutions, we’ve been installing Christmas lights in Austin, TX, for over two decades, and we’re happy to share what homeowners ask us most often.

- How much does Christmas light installation cost?
Prices vary based on the size and design complexity of your home, as well as whether you’re purchasing new lights or reusing existing ones. We offer free consultations, allowing you to receive an accurate quote tailored to your goals and budget, with no surprises and no pressure.
- Do you provide the lights, or use mine?
We can do both, but most of our customers purchase LED lights through us. Why? Because:
- They’re cut to fit your home exactly
- They’re brighter, more durable, and more energy-efficient than retail versions
- We maintain and store them for you (more on that below)
If you already own lights and want to reuse them, we’re happy to evaluate their condition and see if they’re suitable for installation.
- What kind of lights do you install?
We use the highest quality commercial-grade LED lighting available, which is:
- Long-lasting (typically 5–7 seasons or more)
- Energy-efficient (up to 90% less energy than incandescent)
- Custom-fitted for a clean, professional look
We offer a range of styles, including:
- Warm white or multicolor C9 LEDs for rooflines and architectural accents
- Mini 5mm LEDs for tree wrapping and bushes
- Lit wreaths and garlands for daytime and nighttime charm
- Vintage-style colored bulbs for that nostalgic holiday look
If you have a specific color scheme or bulb type in mind, please let us know, and we will customize your display to your preferences.
- Can you decorate trees, fences, and flower beds, too?
Absolutely! In fact, these areas often make the biggest impact. We regularly install:
- Tree wraps for trunks and branches
- Fence and railing lighting for added perimeter glow
- Pathway and flower bed stake lighting to anchor your design at ground level
We help you choose the right areas to light so your home looks balanced and beautiful from every angle.
- What happens after the holidays?
Once the season wraps up, we come back to remove everything we installed—safely, efficiently, and without damaging your home or landscaping.
- Takedowns typically begin in early January
- We schedule removals in advance so you know what to expect
- You won’t need to be home during takedown (unless you’d like to be)
- Do you offer storage for the lights?
Yes! We offer off-season storage for any lights, garland, or wreaths you’ve purchased through us. That means:
- No attic clutter or tangled cords in your garage
- Your materials stay protected in labeled, durable boxes
- We can reinstall your same setup next year with no hassle
- How early should I book my holiday light installation?
As early as possible. We typically begin installations in early to mid-November, but many clients reserve their spots as early as September.
The earlier you book:
- The more flexibility you’ll have with design and scheduling
- The more likely you are to get your preferred installation date
- The less you’ll have to worry as the season gets busy
